This week we'd like to shine some light on Shelby Cook and her studio! Heralding from Seattle, Washington, Shelby's work is varied in size and subject, all clearly displayed on her website and Instagram feed! Perhaps her online presence can inspire you as you develop your brand through your online platforms.
Visiting Shelby's Instagram feed shows her work in several settings. You can see her work in a flat lay. You can see it still on the easel. There are shots of several pieces in a group and videos of her at work on a painting. She even includes a picture of some of her art work hung in her own apartment, giving her audience a way to visualize what a painting of pets might look like in a real living space! We love the many ways she's presenting her art to her potential clients, giving them as many ways as possible to imagine what owning her own work would look like.
Additionally, we love that Shelby appears in her feed and on her website often enough for her audience to recognize her and identify with her! As we discussed on this past week's critique, buying art is an emotional experience. Your collectors are much more likely to purchase art they personally connect and relate to. Providing them the chance to identify with the artist behind the art is an important part of that, and Shelby has been putting in the work!
To learn more about Shelby and stay connected with her work, you can visit her on Instagram here and through her website here!
